Adding Sunlight through Trees with Photoshop – Graphic Design Education

Graphic design education presents how to adding sunlight trough tress with Photoshop. Wow! it is going to be a wonderful lessons for learner who wanted to be a creative graphic designer but don't know more about design. Don't worry this tutorial for cause you know Graphic Design Education always try to present all the classes or tutorials very easily especially for beginner or learner. OK! lets talk about our tutorial. In this tutorials we learn how to adding sunlight through tress with Photoshop. We use here Adobe Photoshop application cause it is one of best photo editing application in the world.
We know have many ways to add sun light in a photo and it's so easy one. But when you think to add sunlight through trees then it is not so easy one. 100% adding sunlight through trees is so difficult but don't be afraid our tutorial is so easy to learn. So you can learn it within a moment. OK lets start!



Application : Adobe Photoshop CS
Difficulty : Beginner or New to Photoshop
Complication Time : 15 minutes only



Adding Sunlight through Trees with Photoshop - Graphic Design Education


Step 1 : Open an Image and copy the Blue Channel
Open an Image like natural tress. We use here a natural trees image. For learning you can use this image. If you want you can use any image as your wish but one thing should be batter for you if you use a image that is related with tress.

Now open Channel palette. We need to copy blue channel. To copy Blue channel, simply click on Blue channel and drag it down onto the New Channel icon at the bottom of the Channels palette (it’s the second icon from the right). Like image below. After this you will see a channel copied name Blue copy




Step 2 : Apply Levels Command
When we click on Blue copy channel our all document turn to dark image. Now we have to turn it more darker so that we can find out our withe area. Finally we turn this white area of image into sunlight. OK... lets apply levels command.
Go Image>Adjustments>Levels set the input levels: 120 then OK.



Step 3 : Load the Blue copy channel as a selection
If you see the image now you will find hole image turn as black and white image. At this moment we select all the white area of images. 
Hold down your Ctrl key and click directly on the Blue copy channel in the Channels palette. When you do this work you will find all white space are selected in the image. Follow the image below.



Step 4 : Take a new layer and fill it with white color.
Now come back Layer palette. Take a new layer. Press Shift+Ctrl+N for taking a new layer or go Layer>New>Layer click OK then you will see a new layer created in the layer palette named Layer 1.
Now we have to fill Layer 1 with white color.
Go to the Edit menu click on the Fill a window will come set the Use option White then OK. After fill deselect the selection. Press Ctrl+D for deselect the selection.

Step 5 : Apply Radial Blur
We are going to apply Radial Blur for sunbeams. Go to the Filter menu, chose Blur, then click Radial Blur, Radial Blur window will come set the Amount 80, select Blur Method: Zoom and Quality: Best, you can also adjust Blur Center. For Adjust Blur Center just click on it, where you want to chose the center point of the filter, then click OK
After complete this task you see some sunbeams come from the tress.

Step 6 : Apply Outer Glow - final step of Graphic design education
We are almost at the end of the tutorial.
Go Layer > Layer Style > Outer Glow a dialog box will come, no need to change any option just click OK.
Finally we get our sunlight through trees effect. See the image below as our final output.
